We will not, however, be held accountable for mishaps occurring with the flowers due to the negligence of the florist nor the florists accessibility to provide us with the necessary flowers.

Once the stand is hired, you will need to return the stand within 3 days. If the stand is delivered with the cake/cupcakes to your venue by Weddings by Cake Shop, the stand will need to be returned 3 days from the date of delivery. Should the three day period fall over a weekend or bank holiday, the stand must be returned on the first working day after the holiday or the weekend.

Late returns of any hire stand will be charged at £5 per day.

Temperature conditions

Cake decorations and cakes are very delicate and are susceptible to changes to their environment. Chocolate and buttercream decorations should be stored in a cool and dry environment to preserve the design. Cakes covered in sugar paste should never be refrigerated as this causes them to form condensation on the outside so we advise you to store them somewhere cool and dry.

Cake Cutting

We do not offer a cake cutting service and arrangements must be made independently for the cake cutting with either a trusted friend or the venue. Our portion size is based on 1”x1” wide slice and we will not be held responsible if your cake is cut at a different size to this resulting in you having fewer portions.

Wedding cakes may contain inedible items such as ribbon, flower picks, plastic dowels, flower wires. These must be removed from the cake before serving and before eating.

Your wedding cake has a shelf life of 3 days. We recommend that the cake is stored in an airtight container to maintain its freshness. Iced wedding cakes should not be refrigerated as this will impair the quality of the cake and the icing.

You have the right to cancel your wedding cake order at any time however charges will be incurred as follows:

Up to 3 months before wedding – Loss of 30% deposit only

Between 1 -3 months before wedding – 75% loss of monies. 25% cake value must be paid as well as loss of deposit. If the cake is paid in full, 25% will be refunded.

Less than 1 month before wedding – 100% loss of monies. Cake must be paid for in full.

All cancellations at any time, will result in the total loss of the 30% deposit.

Should you wish to make a complaint regarding your wedding cake experience, please submit the complaint in writing (with evidence if necessary) to Weddings by Cake Shop, 122 High Street, Smethwick, B66 3AP. We treat all complaints as a matter of priority. This does not affect your statutory rights.

No refunds will be given unless the cake is returned to us and is found to be inedible.
